My Approach

I believe therapy is a transformative journey—a space where individuals, families, and young people can feel truly heard, understood, and supported. As a BACP-accredited psychotherapist and counsellor, my practice is grounded in empathy, unconditional positive regard, and a commitment to providing a safe, non-judgmental environment for every client.

Therapy isn’t just about solving problems; it’s about recognising and valuing the person behind the struggles. Whether you’re a child trying to understand the world, a teenager facing the pressures of school and life, an adult managing anxiety or depression, or a family dealing with significant change, my approach is rooted in genuine care and respect for your unique experience.

In my work with children and teenagers, I provide a supportive space where they can explore emotions and challenges they may find difficult to express elsewhere. This might include dealing with exam stress, social anxiety, OCD, grief, self-harm, or trauma. I focus on helping young people build resilience and develop tools to manage overwhelming emotions, guiding them towards greater confidence and calm.

For adults, therapy offers an opportunity to address deeper, long-standing issues such as trauma, substance misuse, or struggles with self-esteem. I believe that, no matter how complex or difficult your experiences may seem, change is always possible. Together, we can explore the roots of your struggles, navigate tough emotions, and develop practical strategies to improve your mental health and overall wellbeing.

For families, I aim to foster better communication and understanding. Family dynamics can often feel complex and overwhelming, especially when faced with trauma, conflict, or external pressures. By providing a space where families can connect and rebuild trust, I help them create healthier relationships and work through challenges together.

My therapeutic approach is collaborative and integrative, tailored to meet the unique needs of each client. I create a warm, supportive environment where you are accepted without judgment. In addition, I draw on techniques from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), particularly for those dealing with anxiety, OCD, or unhelpful thought patterns. Using CBT, we can explore the links between thoughts and behaviours, empowering you to make positive changes.

Therapy is a deeply personal journey. It is rarely a quick fix and isn’t a one-size-fits-all process. But its impact can be profound—offering hope, equipping you with tools to manage life’s challenges, and helping you rediscover your inner strength. Whether we work together in person or online, my aim is to provide you with a safe, supportive space where you feel heard, valued, and empowered to make meaningful changes in your life.
